wongs!!!! i just realized that i hadn't talked to you in over 3 wks... i think that's a record. :( i went to go check your page and was gonna tell you i was tired of seeing that pic of you and fatty, but then i saw neeeewww updates! yay! :)
that group pic of us at the airport brings back memories... *sigh* whatever happened to your resolution to write me once a wk?? :P anyhoo, miss ya. and have an amazing time in mallorca!!!
i miss mike too. kiddo, i am so jealous of your adventures in greece!! it sounds amazing. weather here in toronto has been reminding me of croatia, such good memories. :D

i've been reading every man's battle: every man's guide to winning the war on sexual temptation one victory at a time it's excellent. it's been eye opening...
anyhow, this particular section stood out to me and i think it can apply to not just sexual sin, but any kind of sin. too often we don't claim the power to overcome sin that we have in christ.
God is waiting for you. But He is not waiting by the altar, hoping you'll drop by and talk for a while. He is waiting for you to rise up and engage in the battle. We have power through the Lord to overcome every level of sexual immorality, but if we don't utilize that power, we'll never break free of the habit.
You see, sexual impurity isn't like a tumour growing out of control inside us. We treat it that way when our prayers focus on deliverance, as we plead for someone to come remove it. Actually, sexual impurity is a series of bad decisions on our part - a result of immature character - and deliverance won't deliver you into instant maturity. Character work needs to be done.
How do you do that character work? That's what we'll explore in the rest of this book.
Holiness is not some nebulous thing. It's a series of right choices. You needn't wait for some holy cloud to form around you. You'll be holy when you choose not to sin. You're already free from the power of sexual immorality; you are not yet free from the habit of sexual immorality, until you choose to be - until you say, "That's enough! I'm choosing to live purely!"

yesterday at katrina's wedding was fun. :) what a nice wedding! so very God-centred... every time i go to a wedding, i'm re-inspired to be patient and wait for a good guy... :)
today at church for mother's day, the little kids handed out carnations and glass bowls of potpourri to moms. two DIFFERENT little kids gave me something!! and each time i shook my head and said "i'm not a mom." O_o lol. is this a sign?? hahaha.
had lunch with angee and auntie rebecca today. can't believe angee's leaving on wed!! :( :( :(

i slept in til 9 am today!! first time in 2 wks that i haven't had to get up before 8 am. yay!! :D

hi angee. :) this blog's for you. i can't believe you'll be leaving in 5 days. it seems so unreal. i don't think it'll hit me til after you're gone. you can't go!! :( these last couple yrs with you have been absolutely fantabulous, as matt would say. :) i'm gonna miss you so much.

wow, it's been so long since i blogged!!!
today was a fun day. all day at equip - bright and early sat morning armed with cranberry orange bread and apple juice, joe and i arrived at ed's house at 7:30 am. O_o ed drove us along with chris to equip way out in burlington at park bible church. on the way i chatted with chris about the business world and its lovely efficiency. :) it was a pretty good equip. i liked 3 out of the 4 workshops i signed up for and we all really enjoyed the variety in the worship which included a sign language/aerobics kinda guy, a story, musical worship and short msg from the senior pastor.
the workshops i went to:
- 21st century leadership
- what drives your church?
- hard heart essentials of leadership
- jars of clay (maintaining health in ministry)
afterwards, ppl went home while our car dropped off chris and headed back to ed's house. we decided to go debrief some more at kelsey's and ended up staying there for quite awhile. it was so gooooood!! i'm really glad we had that time to share with each other what we learned today and set action items (karen, you'd be proud!) for accountability. usually after conferences, i go home, put the folder on my bookshelf never to be reviewed again. but this time, we're gonna keep each other on track! :) i'm so excited. it was fun just to chill with joe and ed. :) and they discovered my dark side. ;) which i am completely open about. :D
but i missed ken's bday party. :( oops.
can't wait to play softball tmr!!! :) it better not rain too hard!!! >.<
