i just read your page! woohoo!! what timing!!! :) :) :) i think you should get a comments/gbk thingy. then i wouldn't have to talk to you on my blog. lol.
disappointment seems to have become a way of life.
one part of my life ended tonight. a significant part of my life for the last almost 2 yrs. i worked my last shift at jaka's on sat... and i won't be back. i've loved working at jaka's - it's become a place where i look forward to doing something different - mindless work that gives me a break from the mentally exhausting things i do every day, a place where i've had a chance to meet some really cool ppl - ppl who are different from me, who have opened my eyes. we've shared our lives with each other. my home dt when i have nowhere to go. and a place to drink bbt and have fun! i'm really gonna miss working at jaka's.
another part of my life will probably end very soon...
wongs, are you still coming home? who travel warning and all.... i had dinner tonight at another yummy italian place we could try....
when i'm disappointed, i crawl into bed. no wonder i haven't been getting much done lately....

i've been studying for one whole hour now... and already i'm getting bored!! oh boy... i'm in for a nice long morning.... i think i've forgotten the joy of studying!! >.< this is what working does to you..... or maybe it's cuz i'm reading about bacteria right now.... horrible, horrible memories of microbio... ok, i'm just blabbing. time to go read about "basic sanitation guidelines"!!

another weird food combo
does anyone else like ketchup with their egg salad?? :P i just discovered it today!! and i also found out i'm not the only one who likes to eat it that way!!
i've started reading richard foster's prayer: finding the heart's true home. i really like foster's writing and would highly recommend another book of his that i've read and yuling's blogged about in the past: celebration of discipline.
i'll share some excerpts along the way. :)

To pray is to change. This is a great grace. How good of God to provide a path whereby our lives can be taken over by love and joy and peace and patience and kindness and goodness and faithfulness and gentleness and self-control.
The movement inward comes first because without interior transformation the movement up into God's glory would overwhelm us and the movement out into ministry would destroy us.
birthday party!
last night was amy's birthday party!! :) for close friends and family. :P auntie mary cooked up a storm!! of fruit salad, chicken wings, ow lam, ribs, mixed veggies and her famous spaghetti!!! yummmmm..... lotsa leftovers for them for days to come. :) after dinner we played the "no teeth" game. ohohoh!! i forgot to mention that tammy, jamie and jas decorated the apt... with streamers, and cut outs of TEETH and MOUTHS!! lol. the funniest were two teeth, one named gabe and the other amy.... and they really DID look like them!! hahahaha. so back to the "no teeth" game.... we named ourselves vegetables and went around saying other ppl's names without showing any teeth. it was easy for some, but hard for others - and SO FUNNY. hahaahaha. esp priscilla!! lol. the most hilarious part of the game was when auntie mary answered the phone saying "hello?" with her "no teeth" voice!! lol!! the rest of us couldn't stop laughing.... the person on the line must've thought we were crazy!! then we made care packages!! amy didn't have anything she wanted for her bday, so instead asked ppl to bring things so we could make care packages for ppl during exams and stressful times. (but she still got presents anyways. :P) it was lotsa fun - i haven't done this in awhile! though i've always loved to ever since donna and cell grp gave me one way back in 2nd yr. a way to pass on the love. :) and to give encouragement!! there were.... i think like 10+ of us? and we made lots and lots of pkgs!! for diff ppl in our lives we were thinking of. :) cake was super rich - a bailey's cheesecake and a black forest cake that cindy made!! what a food night. :P yumm.... i'm gonna run for a full hour tonight!! lol!!
here's to amy - her generosity, love, care and continuing journey to seek the lord! girl, u never cease to inspire and challenge me. i will always be glad to call u my friend. :)
I NEED A VACATION.
i also HATE disappointment. why does it have to happen OVER and OVER again????

a commuter's nightmare
well, tonight's drive home breaks all previous records. 4.5 whole hours. and that's not including a half hour juice and washroom break. yup, 5 looong hours in the car. home sweet home. i couldn't get up the hill to even think of turning into the driveway by the time i got home. i tried all sortsa winter driving techniques, but to no avail. by that time i was pretty tired of being inside the car... with the defroster cranked way up and still ice buildup on the windshield and wipers. my dad managed to get the car in the driveway... i was very impressed!!
anyhow, i really respect driving commuters now. the things they have to endure in great canadian winters!! carol, it's a good thing u were back dt this wk! though it probably took u quite some time to get home still. if this job wasn't so great, i would refuse to travel so far!!! serious. i had the possibility of working at the beef information centre in 'sauga and i said - no!! well, that's also cuz i didn't wanna have a job gathering information on beef either. but heh.
